Custom Set-Up
If you’re noticing your instrument is difficult to fret, making buzzing sounds or just nothing sounds in tune - it is likely time for a professionally performed set-up.
We specialize in custom set-ups that take into account the player’s current technique(s), style of playing, genre of music and simply the way the instrument is physically able to be adjusted to create the best playing experience possible. If you feel better while playing, you will sound better.
After the initial set-up, we offer free check-up appointments to maintain the instrument's set-up adjustment, to keep you feeling & sounding good.
Fret Work
From maintenance fret polishing to full re-frets, we strive to provide you with an instrument that’s buttery smooth to fret. As we specialize in fretted stringed instruments, having a level fret plane is essential to getting a well playing and sounding instrument. Almost all fretted instruments will need fret work and maintenance at some point in its life time. This is mainly due to how the instrument functions, and how wear occurs on the frets as the instrument is played overtime.
We provide detailed documentation during our Inspection Reports of each and every one of your frets, from the overall level to the shape of each fret. This allows us to understand where the instrument is at currently, so that we can see where we need to go to get you playing comfortably again.Electronics
Most fretted instruments have electronics, which makes getting the perfect sound out of your instrument difficult if you’re having inconsistent output issues, scratchy pots or worn out toggle switches.
We provide a professional electronic diagnostic & repair service in addition to customization such as pickup swaps, replacement wiring harnesses, modifications to original systems and more.
Structural Repairs
From head stock breaks, to neck resets, and even acoustic top flattening due to over humidification; we are dedicated to getting your instrument’s structural integrity corrected, so that you can get back to playing. Careful consideration of how the instrument works & inspection of the damage is vital to restoring the instruments functionality, and that is something we specialize in. We recommend our Evaluation Report on instruments with structural damage such as partial or complete head stock breaks with or without splines, bridge lifting issues, bridge plate damage, bracing failure or damage, neck joint separation where a neck reset is required, and so on. Our Evaluation Reports allow us to take in to account each aspect of your instrument’s current condition to best provide you with an instrument you can enjoy for a lifetime.
Re-Finishing
As musicians we focus on the sound and feel; but looking good means feeling good, and feeling good means sounding good. This is why we offer re-finishing services that range from larger projects like complete body, neck & head stock re-sprays or to simply scuffing up the back of neck for a a less sticky neck feel.
